USA File: Pres. Trump tweets threat to terminate federal funding to UC-Berkeley after 100s of students protest (i.e., “go berzerkeley”) scheduled speech by “cultural libertarian,” “free speech fundamentalist” Milo Yiannopoulos; Breitbart News senior editor’s speech against political correctness sponsored by Berkeley College Republicans; demonstrators, including masked “black bloc” activists (i.e., anarchists) clash with campus police, trash their own university, toss metal barricades, rocks through student union building’s windows, employ more police barricades to ram venue doors, breach one entrance, torch generator near entrance; rioters dispersed, take rampage off campus, vandalize nearby banks, including Bank of America, Mechanics, Chase and Wells Fargo, Starbucks looted; Berkeley PD reports rioters surrounded car, removed and beat driver; Yiannopoulos comments on riot, exposes moral bankruptcy of American Left: “[It’s] heavily ironic and very, I think, self-defeating for the social justice left. I annoy the feminists and the Black Lives Matter guys probably almost as much as Trump does, certainly on college campuses. . . . They don’t have the facts on their side and for 30 years the left has been able to bully people into silence by name-calling and they’ve forgotten how to argue”

In Left Illusions (2003), ex-Marxist David Horowitz describes similar responses from the Academic Left whenever he was scheduled to deliver presentations at various U.S. universities. Horowitz studied at Berkeley.
BTW, in the Reuters article linked above, watch out for “fakestream” media bias. The news agency refers to UC-Berkeley as a “liberal-leaning” school when, in reality, the social sciences faculty are a bunch of post-Soviet Marxists and PC totalitarians. At the same time, they incorrectly brand Yiannopoulos as a “far rightist” (i.e., fascist, etc.).
